10,000 trees is a milestone worth celebrating.

Scimitar are delighted to reveal that we have reached an important sustainability milestone: 10,000 verified trees planted through our partnership with Ecologi.

It’s a number we’re incredibly proud of, but one that can be difficult to picture. Ten thousand trees is far more than a statistic on a page, so we wanted to put the scale of the achievement into perspective.

Putting 10,000 trees into perspective.

Together, 10,000 trees could create enough greenery to cover roughly 11 full-size football pitches. They could form woodland covering nearly half of London’s Green Park or more than half of Buckingham Palace’s garden. If you placed one tree approximately every 140 metres, they would stretch from Land’s End in Cornwall to John o’ Groats at the tip of Scotland.

Placed five metres apart, the trees would cover almost the entire length of the Channel Tunnel. That’s a lot of trees; and more than ten thousand reasons for us to be proud.

More than a number.

Our partnership with Ecologi allows us to support verified tree-planting projects in communities around the world. These projects help restore natural habitats, support biodiversity and create employment for local people, ensuring their impact reaches much further than the trees themselves.

However, we recognise that planting trees alone is not the complete answer to the environmental challenges facing our industry. This milestone forms one part of a much wider commitment to reducing our impact and helping our customers make more responsible choices.

Across our custom sportswear, apparel and merchandise ranges, we’re continuing to increase the use of recycled and more sustainable materials. We’re also working closely with our manufacturing partners, reviewing our processes and developing initiatives that extend the usable life of the products we create.

Sustainability is not a one-off campaign or a box to be ticked. It must be built into the way products are designed, manufactured, supplied and eventually reused or recycled.

Reaching 10,000 planted trees is a fantastic milestone, but it isn’t the finish line. We’ll continue investing in tree planting, exploring new materials and looking for practical ways to reduce our environmental impact across the business.
