It’s been another difficult year with the pandemic but everyone at Scimitar would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

As we have in the past, rather than send presents to our clients, we’re giving back to the community to some fantastic causes. As in 2020, we are making a £1000 donation to the Worcester Food Bank initiative this Christmas – in which many of those in need will be looked after over the festive period with all-important meals.

Being based in Worcester, we have supported our local foodbank because we know first-hand the amazing work that they do. In 2020/21, they fed over 10,050 people, while in the last year they have provided 125,600 meals.

With more than one in three of the people they feed being children, it highlights the importance of their work. With the estimated cost of a meal being £1.50, our donation this Christmas will assist in providing approximately 667 meals as well as toiletries, sanitary products & cleaning essentials for those in need.

That’s not all either. Following the amazing finale of the Liverpool Rock N Roll Marathon in which Scimitar was the official kit and merchandise supplier, we also recently donated over 2000 items of kit to charity Liverpool In Arms At Night. You can read more about this in our previous blog here.

Ruth Allsopp, Operations Co-ordinator at the Worcester Foodbank, said: “We’d like to extend our thanks to the Scimitar team once again for their continued support. Large donations like this are so crucial and they enable us to continue to support the local Worcester community during these difficult times.”

Sam Carter, Sales & Operations Director at Scimitar, said: “We know the incredible work the Foodbank do and after donating in 2020, we wanted to show our continued support this Christmas once again. They are particularly busy during this time of year when it’s cold and people are in need, so we’re pleased that we’re able to offer support by way of donation.”
