Records are there to be broken. And this year at the London Marathon, 45 Guinness World Records were smashed!
First and foremost, well done to Kelvin Kiptum. The Kenyan won the 2023 London Marathon and broke the record with the fastest time of 02:01:25. It is the second-fastest marathon time ever recorded and just 16 seconds behind Eliud Kipchoge’s 02:01:09 at the Berlin Marathon on September 25, 2022.
Another impressive feat was that of Claudia Burrough. Claudia holds a number of Ultra Marathon World Records and can now add the fastest marathon in a non-racing wheelchair (female) to her portfolio, after a time of 03:00:56.
