Scimitar were delighted to develop a stunning range of elite cycling jerseys and bib shorts for Bath Rugby’s Giro di Toscana, an annual international cycling challenge.
If you’ve never heard of it, a large number of cyclists travel to Italy for a three day sportive of cycling, all in aid of raising money for the Bath Rugby Foundation charity.
Within the 90 cyclists taking part this year was Bath Rugby’s Todd Blackadder (Director of Rugby) and a number of former Bath Rugby players. Our Managing Director also took part in the event, which raised over £50,000 for the foundation!
Huge well done to everyone who took part!
In previous years the team have cycled 80 (or 50 miles) before unpacking, sleeping and packing back up. This year, the decision was made for the team to remain in the same place and take part in different loops; each of these starting and ending at Poggio all’Angello, a well known triathlete resort.
What exactly is the Bath Rugby Foundation? A UK registered charity, it was set up to help young people develop and succeed, empowering them to better themselves. It’s also the official charitable arm of Premiership Rugby side Bath Rugby.
While the sights of Italy may have proven a welcome sight for many, fundraisers for Bath Rugby Foundation have varied in their nature. From Normandy fields to a venture across Ireland, the team work hard to ensure the challenge is engaging, exciting and worth the huge effort.
Next year’s event is now being planned by the team, and is set to take place in Mallorca. For more information on the fundraiser and how to get involved, email david.trick@bathrugby.com.
