Tomorrow, the UK’s most unique cycling event takes place just outside Llanelli in South Wales.
Battle on the Beach® 2017 is a three lap course of 45km, taking place on 5km of beach, 5km of single track and 5km of double track – not forgetting the 100m of soft sand at the beginning!
Standard entry to the race cost £30 and includes parking, electronic timing a custom medal and the opportunity to win cash prizes across male & female categories.
There was the option of upgrading to a camping ticket for an extra £10 (entitling you to showers/toilet facilities and an entry to the exclusive Battle in the Dark 10km competition).
All entries have closed for the year, but it’s one for you to remember next year!
Over 1,000 riders took part last year across the 2 & 4 lap race, with Richard Jansen of Team Imming edging out teammate Bram Imming by the smallest of margins – one second, to be precise!
The forecast for the 2017 event looks good; BBC Weather is currently reporting sunshine with temperatures of between 10°C & 11°C at Llanelli over the weekend.
We’ve created a special short sleeved jersey for the event, which will be available to purchase at the event (with a strict amount available across all male, female and youth sizes).
Whether it’s to compete or observe, a trip to the Welsh coast for Battle on the Beach should be high on the agenda this weekend if you’re around!
