Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club head into the 2026/27 season in a brand-new Scimitar home kit, bringing together the club’s iconic blue and white colours with a fresh take on a classic rugby look.
The new kit sees the return of the polo collar, adding a traditional touch to the latest kit design, while the club’s unmistakable blue and white colourway remains at the heart of the home shirt.
The 2026/27 season marks the second year of Bishop’s Stortford wearing Scimitar kits, continuing a partnership that has seen the club take to the pitch in performance-focused, fully customised teamwear.
And the new kit has already had a winning start.
The home strip made its first appearance at Silver Leys last weekend, as Bishop’s Stortford opened their National 1 campaign against Dings Crusaders. The team secured an impressive 52–42 victory, giving the new kit the perfect competitive debut.
For the new season, Bishop’s Stortford have stayed true to their identity, retaining the club’s iconic blue and white colourway for their home kit.
There is also a welcome return for a classic feature, with the polo collar making its comeback for the 2026/27 design.
The result is a kit that combines a traditional rugby look with the performance-focused construction expected from modern rugby teamwear.
Every element has been designed with the demands of the game in mind, from the jersey through to the shorts, giving the squad a professional, cohesive look on matchday.
At the heart of the new Bishop’s Stortford kit is the Scimitar Pro 15s Rugby Jersey, a high-performance playing jersey engineered for the demands of full-contact rugby.
The Pro 15s Rugby Jersey features a 240gsm PK fabric across the front, back and upper sleeves, combined with durable polyester construction and 320gsm polyester/elastane panels through the side, collar and underarm areas. The jersey also features a slim fit, raglan sleeves and reinforced tear points, providing a combination of durability, comfort and freedom of movement.
The jersey is fully customisable, allowing the club to create a design that represents their identity while incorporating all their colours, logos and importantly, their sponsor branding.
One of the standout customisation options is the collar. Scimitar offers a range of collar options across its custom rugby jerseys, giving clubs the opportunity to choose a finish that suits their look.
For the 2026/27 season, Bishop’s Stortford opted for the Polo Collar – bringing a classic, traditional rugby aesthetic back into the club’s matchday look.
It is a small detail that makes a big difference, adding to the traditional feel of the new blue and white home shirt while maintaining the technical performance required at National 1 level.
Completing the new home kit are Scimitar’s Pro Rugby Shorts, designed specifically with performance, comfort and durability in mind.
The Pro Rugby Shorts use a combination of lightweight 190gsm woven twill polyester across the main areas, 190gsm chamois fabric on the upper side panels and 240gsm stretch fabric through the inside leg panel and internal hem band.
The chamois fabric on the upper side panels is designed to help players keep their hands dry during games, while the stretch fabric adds durability and flexibility where it is needed most.
An elasticated waistband with internal gripper tape helps keep the shorts securely in place during play, while an internal gum shield pocket provides a practical touch for matchday.
Together with the Pro 15s Rugby Jersey, the shorts provide Bishop’s Stortford with a professional, performance-focused matchday kit built to handle the physical demands of the modern game.
It is not just the men’s side that are sporting new Scimitar teamwear this season.
Bishop’s Stortford are also unveiling a brand-new women’s kit from Scimitar, making the 2026/27 season an especially significant one for the club.
This season marks the 10th anniversary of the Bishop’s Stortford women’s team, making the new kit an important part of a landmark campaign.
The anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate a decade of the women’s team while looking ahead to the next chapter, with a brand-new Scimitar kit ready to accompany the squad throughout the season.
