With the London leg of the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge set for the 4th and 5th July 2018, we’ve developed a reputation as one of the UK’s leading suppliers for corporate running vests and t-shirts for participants.
A wide range of corporate companies come to Scimitar for running, cycling and triathlon kit for events throughout the year. We are, after all, the 2017 Men’s Running Magazine Brand of the Year! With that in mind, we wanted to highlight four key UK events taking place in 2018 for corporate running teams, from individual entrants up to teams of ten.
J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge – London (4th & 5th July 2018)
Part of a 13 event worldwide series, the London leg returns to Battersea Park in 2018 on the 4th & 5th July. Fundamentally a 5.6km (3.5 mile) event, it’s a platform for participating companies to promote health and fitness in the workplace, as well as providing a platform for likeminded people to come together from different departments within a company.

City v Wharf 10K Corporate Run Challenge – London (26th April 2018)
Similar to the J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge, the City v Wharf event is a baton relay race, allowing teams to run in duos or quartets. Teams of four run 2.5km each, while teams of two run a 2.5km loop twice, changing over after each 2.5km distance reached. There’s no l
The event takes place at Victoria Park, bringing together the 2 major London business districts in a head-to-head battle. it’s an evening run (beginning at 6:30pm), and is fully marshalled.
Standard Chartered Great City Race – (17th July 2018)
A unique 5km race, this event takes place on closed off streets in the City of London. Participants will be from companies across accountancy, banking, media, insurance and legal sectors, with funds raised used to support East Africa Child Eye Health.
To put in to context how big this 5k event is within the corporate environment, the 2015 Standard Chartered Great City Race saw just under 5,000 runners from a total of 350 companies take part.
Bloomberg Square Mile Relay – (27th September 2018)
Introduced in 2007, the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay pits teams of ten runners agains teach other in the ultimate team-building experience. Taking place in Guildhall, it’s similar to the J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge in the fact that it’s part of a worldwide series, with events taking place in New York, Dubai, Sao Paulo & Tokyo.
In 2017, 107 corporate teams of ten took to the streets to battle it out. J.P.Morgan, somewhat ironically, won the event with a time of 00:55:37, while 2016 winners Barclays were just 1 minute 30 seconds behind.
