How time flies!
Four months ago, we shot, edited and uploaded the Cycle Engage Team RGB Building Supplies launch event at Bike Chain Bissoe in Cornwall – you can see the video just below:
Uploaded on the 21st April 2017, it was the first time we revealed our custom elite cycling kit for the team, compromising of cycling jackets, jerseys, shorts and a selection of branded leisurewear.
Since then, the team has competed in a number of local and national events while working hard in the community to raise awareness of the healthy benefits and safety risks of everyday cycling.
So, what have the highlights been, both on and off the track? We’ve taken a few minutes to summarise the achievements by the team so far.
The team competed in the National Road Series & The Tour Series.
First up after the kit launch, the team took part in the National Road Series, run in conjunction with British Cycling & HSBC. Taking place in Louth, Lincolnshire, it was an event for Team RGB Building Supplies to get a true feel for the types of events that would be coming up over the next few months. This first event on the National Road Series was won with a superb final sprint by Lizzy Banks of Sunsport Velo RT.
Next up was The Tour Series, a pinnacle in circuit racing in the UK, began in June with a trip to Redditch (in our beloved home county). It was a chance to pit Team RGB Building Supplies against an elite field, including two UCI Pro Teams (DROPS & WNT). Better still, the event would be shown on TV, giving our professional cycling kit some much deserved airtime!

Clients collided as CycleEngage took on the StreetVelodrome!
One of our other custom clients, StreetVelodrome, took to the streets of Worthing on their annual tour across the UK & Ireland, promoting the sport of cycling to the masses.
Sophie Williams & Alice Staniford took part in the event as part of the ‘Pro Riders’ lineup, with the Gold medal eventually being taken by Jessica Watts of Team Cornwall.
The team supported #OpClosePass with Devon & Cornwall Police.
The operation looked to educate and encourage respect between road users and cyclists, with handy guides on what the overtaking clearance should be between the two. Operation Close Pass was launched by the police as they targeted drivers who don’t give cyclists enough room when overtaking. The initiative, in its entirety, was planned to improve the safety of cyclists & raise awareness among road users on how to behave courteously to each other.
As part of Cycle Engage’s commitment to servicing the sport and promoting safety, Operation Close Pass was a great demonstration of a commitment to the community cause.
Lucy Driver took a double-page feature in Cycling Weekly
The UK’s most popular cycling magazine with a readership of over 1.5 million, Lucy’s spread in the July 27th edition was focused on her ongoing training, and how she’s been working with Jamie Pringle (Head of Science at British Athletics) to really get the most out of her strict training regime!
As well as a superbly interesting read, take a look at the beautiful Scimitar jersey at the heart of a two spread feature!
Double win at the Paignton Regatta
Domination of the South West Womens category was confirmed with a double win at the Paignton Regatta.
Jenny Corser picked up the overall win in the Elite category, while Jenny Bolsom impressed with a great overall victory in the Novice category. The win saw Team RGB Building Supplies pip riders from both Somerset Road Club & Exeter Wheelers to the finish line.
Bringing us up-to-date with recent events, Jenny Corser became South West Road Racing Champion!
Over the weekend of the 19th-20th August, Jenny Corser steamrolled to victory, putting behind any doubt when it comes to the domination of Team RGB Building Supplies in the south west categories.
A second place finish for Emma Cockcroft of Bianchi Dama and a third place finish for Hannah Newsham of Somerset Road Club rounded out the podium.
From our perspective, it’s great to see the team compete in our elite range of cycling kit. Also worn by the TORQ performance teams, the bespoke design and custom manufacture led to this stunning design that really does stand out from the crowd.
