The countdown is on.
This weekend, the Emirates Dubai 7s returns to The Sevens Stadium from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November 2025, once again transforming the desert into one of the most iconic rugby weekends on the planet. Scimitar Storm will be right in the mix, heading back to Dubai, hungry to go one better than last year.
Why Dubai 7s stands apart
Dubai isn’t just another stop on the sevens calendar. It’s the sport’s longest-running global event and now the biggest sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East. Across three days, the tournament blends elite international sevens with a huge invitational competition that draws teams from across the world. Eight pristine pitches, world-class athletes, and the unmistakable festival buzz make the weekend feel like a reunion of rugby cultures from every corner of the globe.
Building on last year’s momentum
Last year gave us a taste of what’s possible. Scimitar Storm pushed deep into the competition and came home with the sense that we belonged at the sharp end of the tournament. That experience has shaped everything about our approach for 2025. We’ve reflected on the fine margins – decision-making in the final minutes, smarter squad rotation across a three-day schedule, and game planning that respects the hard ground, heat and quick turnarounds that define Dubai. The lessons are banked. Now the goal is simple: arrive prepared and earn the right to play finals rugby on Sunday.
What to expect from Storm this year
Our 2025 group is being built specifically for Dubai – fast, brave, technically sharp and comfortable playing an expansive game. Expect a high-tempo attacking style that stretches defences, a defensive system built on line speed and relentless second efforts, and a squad balanced enough to handle the intensity of a long weekend. Off the pitch, the team will continue to carry the personality, pride and professionalism that shape the Scimitar brand.
Storm powered by Scimitar performance and sustainability
Dubai 7s will once again be a showcase for our latest performance innovations. The 2025 Storm kit is being created with our advanced recycled polyester fabrics, engineered for heat, humidity and high-intensity play while reducing environmental impact. This is part of Scimitar’s broader commitment to sustainable manufacturing, including responsible material sourcing, circular initiatives and climate-positive projects such as global tree planting. For Dubai, that means lightweight playing shirts designed to cope with desert conditions, off-field kit built for travel, and a visual identity that stands out under the lights.
A festival bigger than rugby
While the rugby takes centre stage, Dubai 7s is now a multi-sport festival in its own right. Netball, cricket, padel and fitness competitions run alongside the sevens, drawing athletes from well beyond the rugby bubble and creating a festival atmosphere that spreads across the whole venue. It’s the only place you can watch world-class rugby, catch a live DJ set, see youth teams experiencing their first major tournament and still find time for a wander around the fan village before sunset.
Following the Storm journey
We’ll be charting the entire journey from design table to desert. Expect squad announcements, pool draw reactions, behind-the-scenes travel and training content, and matchday updates direct from The Sevens Stadium. Once fixtures and kick-off times are confirmed, we’ll be sharing everything across our channels so supporters can follow every moment.

See you in the desert!
Dubai 7s is special because of the people who make the trip, and Scimitar Storm are heading back to the desert with one clear objective: go one better than last year, represent the jersey properly and enjoy every second of one of the greatest sevens festivals in the world.
