The Greene King IPA Championship was officially launched this week, with club captains and coaches attending a special event at Twickenham Stadium.
As official kit suppliers to the Rotherham Titans, we were delighted to see our playing kit featured as part of the marketing campaign for the league.
The 2017/18 season marks the dawn of a new era, as the ninth season of the league will be played with no Championship Playoff; the league winners will be promoted to the Aviva Premiership.

A new website will launch alongside the first set of fixtures in September. Interestingly the RFU has stated an intention to stream ten games on the new website, alongside the 11 that Sky Sports have picked up. That’s 21 fixtures of Championship rugby!
In other news, Rotherham Titans newly-appointed club captain Tom Calladine has reiterated the desire for Rotherham Titans to push on this year, telling The Star that: “We’ve tried to revolutionise what we are and rebrand ourselves with a totally different style of rugby, a different game-plan that will hopefully put us back where we belong.
“If we push towards the middle to the top of the table then I think we’ve done our jobs as players to represent the club well”.
Confidence is high in coach Andy Key’s first full season in charge at Rotherham. Titans’ Hooker Charlie Maddison also told The Star that the head coach is working hard to the players physically prepared.
“Andy’s made it a real target that we want to be one of the fittest teams in the league, if not the fittest. I was carrying an injury from the back end of last season so I’ve been working hard with rehab. I’m back into full training now.”
“We were put through quite a lot of stuff last year and I think maybe some cracks showed in terms of the tightness of the group throughout. The coaching set-up has just brought a brand new lease of life to everybody throughout the club.”
The Rotherham Titans open the campaign against Nottingham at Clifton Lane on the 3rd September, where you can also purchase all official Scimitar replica kit and merchandise. Tickets for the match can be purchased here.
