Today sees the conclusion of the 2017 JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in London.
Yesterday, 15,000 runners took to a sweltering Battersea Park in order to complete the 3.5 mile (5.6km) course, with the same expected to complete the event this afternoon.
We were lucky enough to work with a host of corporate clients to provide the very best technical t-shirts and vests for the event. Here, we answer some of the most common questions in regards to the event!
But what exactly is the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge?
It’s a worldwide collection of team running events, all completed to the same distance.
From Shanghai in China and Johannesburg in South Africa to Frankfurt in Germany and Sydney in Australia, the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge open to full-time employees from organisations with business (usually blue-chip) and the public sector.
In the UK, the event visits London over two days, and is the third most popular event in the worldwide series (in terms of participation).
The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge is often used as a timely platform to promote health and wellbeing within a workplace, while the team element encourages participants from different sectors within a company to bond and work together.
All in all, it’s seen as a fantastic platform to promote a healthy and happy workplace!
Are there other team running events other than the JP Morgan Corporate challenge for companies in the UK?
Indeed – you will find a few, actually! The other big one is the Standard Chartered Great City Race.
Usually centred around the business districts of London, the Standard Chartered Great City Race takes place towards the back end of July, taking place on the closed-off streets of London.
The focus of the Standard Chartered Great City Race team event is based on entrants from the accountancy, insurance, legal, banking and media sectors, raising money for Standard Chartered Bank’s community investment programme.
Another set of events worth mentioning is the Corporate Run Challenge Series (consisting of the City v Wharf 10K Relay Run Challenge and the 5K Run Challenge), taking place in April and September respectively.
What about corporate cycling and triathlon events?
You’re covered here, too. There are a range of cycling and triathlon events for corporate teams to take part in throughout the year.
For keen corporate cyclists, the Dulux Trade London Revolution is a 300km event that takes place in May over two days, looping London and passing through the likes of High Wycombe, Windsor & Woking.
Looking for corporate triathlon events? Well, there’s one that stands out with its poignant, to-the-point name! The World Corporate Cup of Triathlon takes place this year in Stoke-on-Trent in September.
So there you have it – a wide range of running, cycling and triathlon events for corporate teams and individuals.
