Scimitar are delighted to announce that we are the Official Clothing Partner to the Women’s Tour of Scotland 2019, the inaugural women’s UCI event.
It’s the first time in UCI history that a Women’s Tour has been launched before the equivalent Men’s. Better still, this event aims to reward properly by providing a parity of prize money equal to that of a men’s race. It’s a brand new platform, designed to showcase professional women’s cycling here to an excepted 100,000 spectators.
Traversing Scotland from Dundee to Edinburgh between Friday 9th August & Sunday 11th August, and in a first for a UCI calendar event, we will be providing leaders jerseys for the Women’s Tour of Scotland made from our innovative 100% recycled fabric.
Crafted from six recycled plastic bottles for every cycling jersey, all packaging and swing tags are also made from recycled materials. This is the culmination of eighteen months hard work from the Scimitar technology team, enabling us to deliver cycling apparel that offers the same technical performance as our standard range without any compromise.
We stand together with the Women’s Tour of Scotland as they make a commitment to deliver the world’s first climate positive sports event by 2020.
Changing the industry and our sector is a massive focus for the Scimitar brand going forward, and there’s no better time to start promoting sporting events that have little-to-no effect on the environment.
Stay tuned for more on the Women’s Tour of Scotland. This includes design announcements, competitions and much more! To stay in the loop, make sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.
