In what is now an annual tradition, Rotherham Titans had another set of Christmas jerseys designed & produced by our sportswear team here at Scimitar.
In traditional fashion, the one-off shirts were put on Ebay. The aim? To raise as much money as possible for the Rotherham Community Foundation.
Funds raised go towards working with young people in and around Rotherham. The winning bids for each of the 1-15 jerseys received the unique, match-worn shirt after the Darlington Mowden Park game. The remaining number jerseys (16-20) were raffled off after the game.
First up, let’s take a look at the bids. The total raised from sales of the jerseys on Ebay was £1,492. This is a phenomenal amount of money for a great cause. There were a couple of standout prices here – in particular, the number 10 and 6 shirts going for a whopping £270 & £205 respectively!
Secondly, we have to talk about the great win against a resilient Darlington Mowden Park. A 25-13 victory at Clifton Lane was enough to seal a fifth league victory on the bounce. This took the Titans to within just four points of Old Elthamians at the summit.
Well, at least the victory makes the money raised in the sale of the unique Christmas jerseys that little bit sweeter!
