Hereford win all-Scimitar clash
Only five of our rugby clubs were in action at the weekend but it was one to remember for Hereford RFC.
The visitors and Worcester RFC battled out a great contest in their pursuit of Ludlow at the top of Regional 2 West Midlands but it was the visitors who took the win, 22-12, on Saturday.
The result sees Hereford move into 2nd behind leaders Ludlow, who they travel to this weekend in another huge clash. Worcester will travel to Whitchurch as they look to return to winning ways.
Despite three tries, Rotherham Titans fell to a 25-17 defeat at Sedgley Park as they slipped to 5th in National 2 North. The Titans will host Huddersfield this Saturday at Clifton Lane.
In the Welsh Premiership Cup, Llandovery played out a thriller at Merthyr, but ended up on the wrong side of a 48-40 scoreline. But it’s back to league action on Saturday as they look to continue their unbeaten run in that competition away at Cardiff RFC (kick-off 2.30pm).
Elsewhere in the Indigo Group Welsh Premiership, Ebbw Vale host Swansea while Pontypridd host Llanelli on Saturday (both 2.30pm kick-offs).
In London & SE Division – Counties 2 Surrey, Chipstead RFC were beaten 28-17 by league leaders Teddington, but sit just five points behind them going into this Saturday’s home game with London Exiles.
