29th september – 5th october, 2025

Rugby fans were treated to an action-packed weekend on 4 October 2025, with clubs across the UK delivering thrilling performances and hard-fought victories. From dominant wins to nail-biting finishes, this week’s matches showcased the spirit and resilience of teams at every level.

Bees Hold Strong at Home

Birmingham and Solihull Bees celebrated a well-earned 34–24 home win over Southam in Counties 2 Midlands West (East). The Bees impressed with strong attacking phases and solid defence when it mattered most.

Meanwhile, Harborne edged Bournville 2s 26–24 in another exciting fixture from the same division. Barkers Butts also travelled well, securing a 29–26 away victory over Lutterworth 2s, proving their ability to grind out results on the road.

Titans Shine on the National Stage

In National League 1, Rotherham Titans powered past Leicester Lions 45–21 in a commanding away performance that highlighted their attacking depth.

However, not all results went in favour of the home sides. Bishops Stortford fell short 15–20 against Sedgley Park, despite a valiant effort. The Titans’ statement win puts the rest of the league on notice as they continue their strong season.

Regional Triumphs Across the Midlands

Several Midlands clubs enjoyed a successful weekend. Worcester RFC defeated Ledbury 27–21 in Counties 1 Midlands West (South), keeping their winning form alive. Hereford impressed with a 24–13 home victory over Shipston on Stour in Regional 2 Midlands West, showing great control throughout the match. Meanwhile, Dinnington narrowly beat Yarnbury 24–21 in Counties 1 Yorkshire after a tense closing phase.

Welsh Clubs Battle Through Mixed Results

Welsh rugby also saw its share of drama. Pontypridd travelled to Bargoed and came away with an impressive 28–11 win in the Premiership, displaying grit and precision. South Gower edged Porthcawl RFC 26–22 in a closely fought Admiral National League Division 2 West Central match, claiming a valuable away win. On the other hand, Narberth suffered a 14–22 defeat to Llanelli despite home advantage, showing that form can quickly shift in the Premiership.

This triumphant comeback marks an exciting new chapter for the club.

Looking Ahead

Big away wins, dramatic comebacks and significant milestones all point toward an unpredictable and fiercely competitive season ahead. Fans can expect more thrilling fixtures as clubs fight for league positions and local bragging rights.
