In the week that England faced Wales in the Six Nations, Scimitar had multiple teams in action across the English and Welsh leagues.

First off we head over to St Helens as the reigning Welsh Premiership champions travelled to face 10th-place Swansea RFC. It was usual business for Llandovery as they looked to push on again in their bid to finish the season at the top of the table.

Despite Swansea managing to score a handful of points it just wasn’t enough as Llandovery soared ahead to take another dominant league win with the game finishing 19-45. The result extends their points total for the season up to 80, comfortably above Newport in second who currently have 65 points on the board.

Next up for Llandovery they will travel to face bottom of the table Neath on Saturday the 17th February.

Elsewhere in the National 2 North Rotherham Titans were in action as they too travelled to face their opponents Fylde. It turned out to be anything but a straightforward game for the Titans as Fylde pushed them to the final whistle.

Despite a worthy performance from Fylde, it was Rotherham that took all of the points for another time this season with the game finishing 27-32. The bonus point victory maintains the gap between the Titans and league leaders Leeds Tykes ahead of their fixture on the 23rd of March.

Rotherham are straight back into another key fixture this weekend as they prepare to face 3rd place Sheffield who currently sit 8 points below the Titans in their bid for promotion.

There was a huge game elsewhere last weekend in the Counties 2 Midlands West (East) as Barkers Butts faced 2nd place Veseyans in a must-win fixture. As expected it was a game that went to the final whistle with both teams giving it their all. Barkers Butts however produced another great performance with them pushing ahead to win the game 36-40.

Barkers Butts will return this weekend as they are set to play Coventry Welsh as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Finally, we take a look at the results over in the BUCS Super Rugby league with Swansea University RFC in action against Cardiff in round 14. It was a great opportunity for Swansea to earn some valuable points with Cardiff only 1 point ahead of them in 8th place before the start of the game.

With the same idea in mind it was a fired-up Cardiff team that turned up, with them beating Swansea 14-45. Swansea have an opportunity to fight back tonight as they face Bath away from home.

There is plenty of rugby on elsewhere this weekend with the following teams in action across the various English and Welsh leagues.
