We’re keeping it brief this week as only two Scimitar teams were in action last week, while the rest took some well-deserved time off to rest up and prepare for a huge couple of weeks of competitive action!
We start this week’s round-up by heading over to the National 2 North, as Rotherham Titans made the journey north to comprehensively beat Otley 34-14 at Cross Green.
Rotherham outscored Otley by five tries to one with a well-deserved winning bonus point to round off a great day for the side.
As we approach the business end of the season, it’s no surprise that every game is now a must-win for the Titans as they continue to chase the unbeaten Leeds Tykes at the top of the table. Rotherham will need to prepare to travel again this weekend as they face Huddersfield away from home.
Elsewhere, Chipstead RFC were in action against the Counties 2 Surrey league leaders Old Rutlishians. Stead had a big task to overcome the league’s best side, with Old Rutlishians only dropping points once this season with seventeen wins in their 2023/24 campaign so far.
The class was there for all to see as Rutlishians put on a fine display of rugby to beat Chipstead 39-0. Despite the loss, Chipstead remain in 4th place as they prepare to face this weekend’s opponents, Old Whitgiftian, who sit 26 points below them.
