Introducing Scimitar Storm

Scimitar Sportswear are delighted to announce our high performance 7s programme with Loughborough Sport, in a project called Scimitar Storm.
Taking the place of Scimitar Exiles, the all new Scimitar Storm programme will develop both male and female players at Loughborough, specifically working towards a quality, intensive sevens programme.
Scimitar Sportswear continue to be a brand committed to the development of rugby sevens in the UK. As a leading supplier of custom rugby kit, we will be using the platform to develop and showcase our range of elite rugby wear further, for one of the most demanding iterations of the sport.
Adam Church-Millward, Marketing Manager for Scimitar, said: “The opportunity for our invitational sevens teams to work within the world class facilities of Loughborough Sport is unprecedented.
“Together, we’re really hoping to that the Scimitar Storm initiative helps push on the development of rugby sevens in the UK and, in kitting the team out with our elite kit for tournaments and training, we’re looking to push the boundaries of technical sportswear even further”.
The programme will allow the Scimitar Storm teams to use the world class training facilities available at Loughborough, as the Scimitar Storm program looks to work closely with the RFU National schemes. This will culminate in Scimitar Storm attending a number of high profile events on both a domestic and international scale.
Elite Sevens Rugby
James Angove, Director of the Scimitar Storm initiative, told Loughborough Sport: “This is a really exciting opportunity to establish a national, sector leading programme that will provide an opportunity for students to focus on 7s specifically.
“With Scimitar Storm being the vehicle for players to play elite level 7s rugby, being supported by Loughborough Sport means that they we can deliver a high end performance programme. This is an extremely exciting time for both the men’s and women’s 7s game.”
Look out for exclusive content in the upcoming weeks including interviews, tournament announcements and player profiles.
