Scimitar become official apparel partner to Racing League

Scimitar are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Racing League – horse racing’s exciting new team competition.

The 2022 Racing League kicks off at Doncaster Racecourse on Thursday 4 August, and official apparel partner Scimitar will be providing all elements of Racing League branded apparel including jockeys’ team silks, as well as branded items for trainers, owners and racing staff associated with each of the seven regional teams taking part.

Racing League will, in 2022, take place across six action-packed fixtures through August and September and offer over £2,000,000 in prize money. Teams of racehorse trainers and jockeys will represent Ireland, Scotland, Yorkshire, The North, The East, Wales and The West and London and The South, with the competition broadcast live by both Sky Sports Racing and ITV Racing.

Sam Carter, Scimitar Sportswear Managing Director, said: “We are proud to work with a number of high-profile organisations and governing bodies, including the likes of British Triathlon, GB Pentathlon and the Great North Run, and we’re excited to work with Racing League to produce more high-quality apparel and equipment for elite-level athletes.

“Something we are passionate about at Scimitar is sustainability and where possible, we will be looking at a range of recycled and sustainable options for Racing League’s apparel. We are acting on our responsibility as a sportswear brand and aim to be producing all polyester-based sportswear with recycled fabric by 2025.

“While we are predominantly a sportswear brand, our expertise also stretches out to promotional items and merchandise, so we’re looking forward to supporting Racing League and its partners in order to help the competition thrive.”

Jeremy Wray, CEO of Racing League, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scimitar to Racing League, and really look forward to seeing their kit and apparel at our first fixture at Doncaster on 4 August. Alongside the high quality of their products, Scimitar have a clear vision to increase recycling and sustainability in the sportswear market, which we are delighted to support.

“A key aim of Racing League is to help build an identity around each of the regional teams taking part and clear and distinct branding of our stars, both in and out of the saddle, will be a big part of that, going forward.”
