After a weekend that saw them qualify for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town, Scimitar are delighted to announce that we are the new Official Kit Supplier for Zimbabwe.
Commonly referred to as the Cheetahs, Scimitar have produced and delivered the 2022 kit for the Zimbabwe 7s team, kit which was ‘unofficially’ debuted by Rugby Afrique on Facebook (a post you can see by clicking here).
Led by captain Kudzai Mashawi and coached by Ricky Chirengende in the absence of head coach Graham Kaulback, Zimbabwe sealed a place in the Rugby World Cup Sevens by finishing runners-up to the hosts at the Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens in Uganda this weekend. This will be the sixth appearance for the Cheetahs on the world stage, having previously secured World Cup qualification in 1997, 2001, 2009, 2013 and 2018. Kenya were the final team to qualify for the World Cup Sevens, beating Zambia 19-12 in the bronze match.
We are thrilled to see our kit on the international stage within the sevens circuit and to offer Zimbabwe a technical product that will help efficiency and performance. Better still, as part of this new international partnership, Scimitar have developed a range of premium merchandise, including replica jerseys, which can be purchased and delivered to wherever you are in the world!
To further celebrate this brand-new partnership between Scimitar and the Cheetahs, we’re also offering free names and numbers on playing jerseys, as well as free initials / name personalisation on your technical replica merchandise for free. Simply add your name or initials to the product before adding to basket.
