Rugby that gives back. That’s how we do it.
As part of the WearThenShare™ Roadshow, Scimitar ambassador and content creator Max Brown recently joined Saracens player and Rugby Recycled founder Gareth Simpson at Bishop’s Stortford RFC for a day that captured exactly what rugby does best bringing people together and creating impact beyond the pitch.

Bishop’s Stortford RFC sit proudly in the third tier of English rugby, competing in National League 1, and play a vital role at the heart of their local community. This season also marks Scimitar’s first year as the club’s official kit partner, making the visit a fitting milestone in what is already a strong and values aligned partnership.
The day welcomed players of all ages, from juniors to seniors, alongside parents, volunteers and sponsors including Tees, and students from local school, Hockerill College, all coming together for rugby training sessions, games and conversations around sustainability and social responsibility. Central to the visit was the donation of a significant volume of pre loved and surplus kit, generously contributed by the club and its wider network.
Repurposed.
Through the WearThenShare™ scheme, this kit will now be repurposed and redistributed in high impact areas across developing countries, extending its life and ensuring it continues to serve a purpose where access to quality sportswear can be transformative.
A key driver behind this impact is the work of Gareth Simpson and Rugby Recycled, whose mission is to reduce waste in sport while unlocking opportunity for communities worldwide. Alongside Gareth, Martin from Tag Rugby Trust continues to play a crucial role in ensuring donations reach the places where they can do the most good, supporting participation, education and inclusion through rugby.
Max Brown, a long standing Scimitar ambassador and a leading voice within the WearThenShare™ Roadshow, was delighted to be part of the day. His passion for grassroots rugby and community led initiatives continues to be a powerful force behind the programme, helping to connect elite level experience with everyday rugby environments.
The project is also made possible thanks to the backing of Titan Wealth, whose support represents a significant contribution to the funding and long term sustainability of the scheme. Their involvement allows the Roadshow to scale its reach and deepen its impact across clubs and communities. Furthermore, we couldn’t do this without our repurposing partners Tag Rugby Trust, Rugby Recycled, and Scrum 5ive, who all play an inaugural part in this programme.
