Worcester Nomads CC x Scimitar

Worcester Nomads CC partner with Scimitar

Scimitar are delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with Worcester Nomads Cricket Club.

Nomads, who compete in Worcester County League Division 1 and have ambitions to return to play in the Birmingham League, have teamed up with Scimitar in an exclusive kit deal which will see Nomads supplied with playing shirts and training kit via an online shop, with high-quality cricket clothing via a direct home delivery service.

Worcester Nomads Chairman Nick Williams said: “We wanted to partner with a local company who understand the needs of an amateur sports club and we got exactly that – fast delivery, great quality and a value-for-money product. What’s more is that Scimitar prioritise sustainability and we’re delighted with the 100% recycled technical t-shirts, base layers and 1/4 zip running tops, which are made from recycled plastic bottles. It’s amazing really that this can be achieved and it still meets the needs of being a high-performance product.”

The shirts will showcase kit partner Scimitar, front-of-shirt sponsor McDonald’s and marketing partner Modus Agency from the 2021 season.

Scimitar provides custom-made sports kit for all different types of sports, not just in the UK, but internationally, and is the official kit supplier to mass participation events such as British Triathlon and The Great North Run, as well as providing fundraising apparel for leading national charities like Help For Heroes and Alzheimer’s Society. The wider business, which also hosts two retail brands in Scimitar Sportswear and Funky Sportswear, has also produced bespoke apparel for a host of major clients including household names like HSBC, McLaren, Britain’s Got Talent and Love Island.

In addition to the work Scimitar does nationally, the company is very proud of its Worcester roots, having recently signed a five-year deal with Worcester RFC, and also working with Worcester Bosch, St Richard’s Hospice and a whole host of local sports clubs, while last Christmas they donated £2000 to the Worcester Food Bank.

The company prioritises sustainability and, as part of its #RecycleReduceRepurpose pledge, aims to produce all polyester-based sportswear from recycled fabric made from plastic bottles by 2025. They will also help ensure any old sports kit won’t go to waste and in partnership with the Tag Rugby Trust, will take old, unwanted sports kit to Africa to distribute to community clubs who engage with thousands of local children using rugby as a vehicle for running educational and social outreach programmes.

Nomads are looking to recruit new players at both junior and senior level, and those who sign on for the club will receive a free player shirt (seniors) while juniors will receive a free shirt once subs are paid.

The club boasts over 120 members with three Saturday league sides, including their 2nd XI competing in Worcester County League Division 5 and 3rd XI team playing in Division 9 South. They also have a Sunday friendly team, along with five junior sides (from little ones up to under 16s) playing in the week.

The Worcester Nomads online shop will be open from mid-April. To find out more information about Scimitar’s offering for Worcester Nomads members, visit them on Facebook here or email worcesternomadscc@gmail.com.
