The Brief.
Alzheimer’s Research UK oversee a calendar which includes a host of big events and fundraisers.
The footprint is huge; over 10,000 participants take part in running and cycling challenges throughout the year, each requiring fundraising items to help raise significant funds for the charity.
Alzheimer’s Research UK reached out to Scimitar in 2017 in search of a whole host of sportswear and merchandise items.
They have been in the capable hands of our Senior Account Manager, Richard Webb, ever since!
A Sustainable Partnership.
THE WORK.
Scimitar and Alzheimer’s Research UK are now in the seventh year of working together on charity sportswear and branding.
Over this time, Scimitar have worked with Alzheimer’s Research UK to produce the following fundraiser items, with a heavy focus on eco-friendly apparel:
- Recycled Running Vests
- Recycled Technical T-Shirts
- Recycled Cycle Jerseys
- Recycled Neck Warmers
Besides sustainable charity sportswear, Scimitar have also produced custom hoodies, cotton t-shirts, beanie hats, baseball caps, swim caps, flags, banners, scrim roll, woven badges, lanyards, socks and medals for the charity.
THE RESULTS.
James Pritchard, Supporter Merchandise & Fulfilment Manager said: “It’s important that, where possible, we minimise our impact on the environment.
“Within the supporter merchandise and fulfilment team, we recently introduced the sustainability promise with a set of commitments to improve our sustainability across four main facets.
“This includes our supply chain, procurement, minimising the impact on the environment, and to improve the work we do with our supporters.
“It’s very important we can use the knowledge and innovation of suppliers and Scimitar are key in that.
“Producing quality technical t-shirts, with each one made from 6-7 recycled bottles, helps us to achieve our sustainability goals and I know Scimitar’s goals are very much aligned with ours.”
