Scimitar were the UK’s first custom sportswear manufacturer to offer recycled, sustainable polyester options.
Back in 2018, we developed a range of six core products that were available to be produced in 100% recycled polyester.
Now, thanks to our ongoing commitment to a sustainable sportswear future, we have extended that number to over 100 products.
From our core range of running vests, running t-shirts and cycling jerseys to the likes of base layers, leggings and shorts, we’re not stopping now. Our Garment Technologists are working hard to continue adding new products to our sustainable range.
All of our Qwick-Dri™ recycled range also benefits from a FREE UPF upgrade, helping protect the skin from dangerous sun rays.
What is scimitar recycled sportswear?
Every single minute, it’s estimated that one million plastic bottles are sold globally.
That’s where we come in with the use of rPET in our custom sportswear.
rPET is the short name for recycled polyethylene tetraphyte (or recycled polyester). It’s created by a factory process of cleaning, shredding and yarning plastic bottles into a workable fabric.
For each recycled custom t-shirt we produce, we re-use six plastic bottles, preventing them from going to landfill or becoming ocean waste.
